Stephen Price teaches organ, church music, and music theory at Ball State University, Muncie. Dr. Price attended the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, receiving the Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees under the tutelage of Dr. Janette Fishell.

Dr. Price was a presenter for the OrganFest 2020 virtual PipeTalk series, titled “A Discussion for New Organ Teachers: Where to Start and How to Proceed?” In the fall of 2020, Dr. Price participated in a new webinar series on teaching, presenting on “Building an Organist Artistry through Literature Choices” sponsored by the AGO’s committee on continuing professional education. As a solo artist, Dr. Price is represented by Seven Eight Artists, Inc. Recent concert appearances include: The Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip (Atlanta, GA); Music For A Great Space Series (Greensboro, NC); University of Dubuque (Dubuque, IA); and the 2022 Organ Historical Society Convention (Columbus, OH).

In 2021, Dr. Price released his debut CD, Paris Impact Organ Suites, distributed by the Raven recording label, featuring the first commercial recording of the Goulding & and Wood Op.45 Organ in Sursa Hall at Ball State University. Excerpts from the CD and live performance recordings are featured on “The Price is Right!” Pipedreams broadcast on NPR (January 30, 2022).

In addition, Dr. Price is the coordinator for the Sursa American Organ Competition, Dean of the Muncie AGO, and serves on the Organ Historical Society’s Advisory Membership Committee and the American Guild of Organists National Committee on Educational Programming. Currently, Dr. Price serves as Organist at High Street United Methodist Church, Muncie, IN, working alongside colleague Dr. Andrew Crow. Together, they have implemented an organ scholar program to inspire and train future church musicians.
